Associate Sports Massage Therapist
Nathaniel Farmer is our new addition to the team at David Such Osteopathy, as an associate sports massage therapist.
Nathaniel has 5 years of sports massage experience, a degree in psychology and a master’s degree in sports and exercise psychology. He is currently in his 5th and final year of master’s training to be an Osteopath at the University College of Osteopathy in London. This helps Nathaniel have a deeper understanding of the psychological aspects of athletic performance and injury rehabilitation, which complements his hands-on skills as a sports massage therapist.
Nathaniel’s journey into sports massage therapy was inspired by his interest in martial arts and rugby. Through years of rigorous training and competition, he has developed a profound appreciation for the importance of proper physical conditioning, injury prevention, and rehabilitation. It was this first-hand experience that encouraged him to pursue a career dedicated to helping athletes optimise their performance and overcome physical challenges.
Nathaniel brings a wealth of knowledge in biomechanics, anatomy and physiology to his practice. His comprehensive understanding of the musculoskeletal system allows him to conduct thorough assessments and develop tailored treatment plans that help to address the underlying causes of his patient’s pain.
Nathaniel’s treatment sessions are characterised by a thoughtful combination of manual therapy techniques. These include deep tissue massage, myofascial release, joint mobilization, and corrective exercises. Each session is customised carefully to meet the specific needs and goals of his patients, whether they are recovering from an injury, preparing for a competition, or simply seeking to optimise their physical performance.
In his spare time, Nathaniel continues to stay active in endurance sports and CrossFit, deepening further his understanding of the physical demands and psychological aspects of competitive sports. He remains dedicated to ongoing professional development, staying abreast of the latest research and advancements in sports medicine and osteopathy, to ensure he provides the highest quality of care for his patients.
